Spanish Club is a bilingual learning program designed for learners in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Rooted in Montessori philosophy and guided by current research in second language acquisition, Spanish Club emphasizes consistency, repetition, movement, storytelling, and meaningful connection. Learners use their home language as a foundation while gradually building Spanish from the outside in - moving from the world around them toward deeper communication, cultural understanding, and self-expression.
Rather than isolated lessons, learners build language over time through a structured two-day weekly commitment that supports stronger retention, deeper relationships, and greater confidence using Spanish.
Each cohort explores language through:
• songs, movement, and games
• storytelling and cultural studies
• hands-on materials and Montessori-inspired work
• history, geography, and place-based exploration
• practical conversation and real-world vocabulary
Spanish Club is held onsite at Roosevelt Elementary immediately after school, offering families the convenience of staying in place while engaging in rich, intentional language learning.
